Priester Aviation seeks a full-time Flight Crew Leader & Captain to lead a Global 6000 aircraft based in Wheeling, IL.  The Flight Crew Leader is responsible for a three additional Pilot’s, a Flight Attendant and Maintenance Crew Chief.  The aircraft will operate approximately 500 hours per year.

The ideal candidate exemplifies vast world-wide international experience of 5+ years, previous experience leading a flight department, a dynamic leader who is cooperative and uses collaborative methods to lead and engage team members while balancing the needs of the client and Priester Aviation.

The Flight Crew Leader is effective in crew resource management and focuses on the success of the flight department while adhering to PIC duties and expectations.

FLIGHT CREW LEADER RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Ensures flight crew provides professional and friendly interpersonal interactions with the Owner/Client as well as vendor/support personnel. This includes personal appearance, service-based conduct, and solutions-based decision-making.
  • Organize and coordinate Crew Schedule, including time off requests, Simulator training schedules, recurrent training while working in conjunction with the Priester Training department, included but not limited to crew member passports, secondary passport requirements, medicals, immunizations, visas, etc. for mission completion.
  • Works closely with Human Resources in the hiring, recruitment and retention of each flight crew member and remediate issues that may arise on the flight deck in accordance with company guidelines and policy.
  • Work to identify and anticipate any operational or flight department issues
  • Update and communicate essential information to all flight department team members
  • Liaise with Priester Maintenance Control and Aircraft Mechanic to maintain awareness of aircraft status at all times.
  • Maintain clear communication with Owner Services on all account issues for awareness and so they may address issues with the client as needed.
  • Objectively seeks and communicates with Priester Leadership suggested system and process improvement for the flight department that may be advantageous to the aircraft owner and Priester Aviation
  • In conjunction with other Priester personnel, assist in the development of the annual operating budget.

CLIENT EXPERIENCE AND SERVICE LEVELS

  • Collaborates with team members and various Priester departments to provide a exemplary customer service for the principal and passengers.
  • Routinely reviews service deviations, investigates and offers remediation to avoid service failures for principal and passengers, while seeking new opportunities to enhance the overall client experience.

COMPLIANCE OF FLIGHT DEPARTMENT

  • Actively engages in the Safety Management System (SMS) and is familiar with SMS process and initiatives.
  • Promote the integrity, reputation, and good standing of Priester Aviation amongst industry stake holders, and enhance image and goodwill of Priester.
  • Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and confers with company personnel as needed.
  • Ensures all crew members maintain certain level of appearance to include uniforms, grooming and professionalism.
  • Oversight of pilot required currency to consist of manuals, proper recording of duty times, verify flight duty & flight time, required readings, etc.
  • Assist in the tracking and verification of quarterly days off to confirm regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as an EFB Aircraft/Base Manager, charting/verify current subscription, iOS Updates, company manuals, PED (iPad) MX oversight and verifying usage of Priester Aviation PEDs.
  • Perform routine base audits as well as regular destinations to include the aircrafts documents, customs sticker verification, AFM currency and airplane flight can.
  • Ensure cleanliness of office, maintenance closet and inspecting hangar conditions.
  • Involved in upgrade recommendations as per Priester SOP procedures and crewmember salary and bonus decisions.

Position Requirements

MINIMUM TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS TO BE CONSIDERED

  • Global Express experience required
  • Total Time = 7500 hours
  • PIC = 3500 hours
  • Multi Engine Land = 2500 hours
  • Multi Engine PIC = 1500 hours
  • Turbo Jet Time = 2000
  • Instrument Time = 500 hours
  • First class medical
  • Able to complete ICAO International procedures training annually
  • Must be located or willing to relocate within 2 hours of Chicagoland Area
  • Vision Flight Deck – Preferred
  • Previous 135 Operations Experience – Preferred

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

A management background with a demonstrated track record of cooperative leadership, mentoring, and teaching is required to be considered for this position.

Leadership:

  • Past managerial, leadership, training, or other applicable leadership training
  • College degree and/or advanced industry training
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills in coordinating activities, identifying problems and answering questions, while promoting department goodwill
  • Previous experience studying/developing additional skills meant to enhance performance within the operation & flight department (safety training education, standards development, risk assessment training, etc.)
