Description

Training Manager will work in collaboration with the Director of Training to provide day to day assistance in the supervision of crew members with respect to checking and training events, while keeping the departments goals in mind. The Training Manager must be a self-starter with a professional attitude and demeanor, have a high level of ability to work both cooperatively and independently is critical. They must be capable of interacting with all levels of personnel in a fast-paced work environment, monitor work performance and foster teamwork to ensure deadlines are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Training in the day to day operations:
    • Help to maintain compliance with FAA/TSA regulations and Priester Aviation policies.
    • Prepare for audits and provide support in corrective action as required.
    • Maintain, manage, and submit documents for approval as required by the FAA.
    • Monthly audit of Crews training
      • Training records
        • FAA required training
        • Priester required training
    • Training Manual
      • Revision Updates
    • Ops Specs
      • Upload most current Ops Specs (A031 and D085)
  • Maintaining and managing crew training records
    • Update Wyvern, Argus, and PRD crew training records
    • Schedule crew training
  • FAA
    • Adding a new training facility for each type of aircraft
      • Facility Audit
      • A031 forms
      • Instructors and Check Airman Approvals
      • Make sure we have a training program for new aircraft
    • Compile Check Airman records for POI Approval
      • PDF all training records per check airman candidate
      • Create Approval Letter for FSDO
      • Email records and approval letter to FSDO for approval
      • Email returned approved LOA’s to training centers and save digitally and hard copy of most current LOA goes in Binder in DOT Office
    • Send copies of training records to FAA and keep accurate log as requested
    • Keep spreadsheet of current Check Airman for all aircraft at each facility and update as needed
      • Send to FSDO as requested
        • Order Flight Log Books and mail to outlying bases
  • New hires and indoctrination process
    • Priester Portal
    • Emergency Training
    • Setup iPads applications/sign-on
  • Invoicing
    • Training trip sheets
    • CTP training expenses
  • Sales and Marketing
    • Assist with training costs
  • Assist the Operations department with:
    • After hours pilot record entries – when applicable
    • Maintain and manage training records, certificates, and other documentation required for pilot staff
    • Training Trip Sheet
      • Scheduling airfare and accommodations during training
      • Coordinate with OSE to keep FOS calendar updated
  • Respond to incoming phone calls and email about training questions

This is an exempt position which requires flexibility to meet the demands of business.

Position Requirements

Required or Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and meet specified deadline
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management and support personnel
  • Skilled in computer knowledge and usage
  • Advanced ability in Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills.
  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Aviation Degree or industry experience preferred
  • Education or Teaching/instructor background preferred
